Special Access Instructions for E-Books & Online Newspapers: Home

A guide providing special instructions for accessing e-books and specific journals.

Special Access

A few electronic resources provided by the library to do not support off-campus access using your Dickinson username and password, or have apps that do not support that streamlined access. The tabs on this guide provide instructions for accessing these kinds of e-journals and databases, which include the Chronicle of Higher Education, Financial Times, HathiTrust, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and more.

For additional assistance, please Ask a Librarian.

No Special Access Required

Most library databases and e-resources may be accessed directly while connected to the campus network without any special instructions.

In these cases, off-campus access must be initiated through the links provided on the library website, which will prompt you for your Dickinson login.

The Economist, New Yorker and Washington Post are examples of popular sources that require no special access efforts beyond your Dickinson network login.
