Special Access Instructions for eBooks & Online Newspapers: Economist.com

Starting May 22, 2023 individual accounts will be required to access the Economist.com through the library.  Users will be required to re-verify their Dickinson email address every 6 months.  

Follow these steps to set up an individual account.  This will provide access to the Economist.com subscription and premium content provided through the Library.

Step 1 Register on The Economist website: https://myaccount.economist.com/s/login/SelfRegister 
using your Dickinson email address

Step 2 You will receive a verification email titled “You’ve been given an Economist subscription” from no-reply@economist.com, where you can verify your email address

Step 3 You will be returned to economist.com and will have full access to enjoy the subscription provided by the Waidner-Spahr Library. 
 

After setting up your individual account, you may take advantage of these features and content included with the library subscription:

• The World Ahead 
• 1843 Magazine
• Briefings and special reports
• Data journalism (Daily Chart in the "Home" section, Graphic Detail in the "Weekly" section)
• Podcasts and audio versions of stories
• Newsletters (select by setting your preferences at 'my.economist.com')
• Live digital events
• "The Economist" app is available for iOS (App Store) or Android (Google Play). After downloading the app, login to the app through "settings"
