Reserving Spaces in the Library: Event Spaces

Event Guidelines

Through events and exhibits, the Waidner-Spahr Library enhances the cultural and academic life of the community by illuminating resources and research activity, and promoting scholarship and creative endeavors on campus. We invite Dickinson students, faculty, and staff to host or sponsor activities in the library. If you would like to propose an event or exhibit, please be aware of the following:

  • Events should enrich the learning experience of the Dickinson community and should include respect for the dignity of others at all times. The library supports the American Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Principles for Academic Libraries as it relates to library events.
  • The library expects the group sponsoring the event to abide by all campus policies and regulations.
  • All arrangements such as food and promotion will be provided by the group sponsoring the event.

Reserving Spaces for your Event

To reserve library event spaces, please submit your event details in EngageD. In the event location field, please specify which library classroom or event space you would like to reserve for your event.

Additionally, please be sure to specify set up instructions if your event requires additional seating and/or furniture configuration.

For assistance submitting an event through EngageD, please use these instructions or contact the Office of Conference and Special Events (CASE) at case@dickinson.edu.

Library staff will confirm the location and approve the event through EngageD in collaboration with CASE.
