ILL Services: Fall 2020

Faculty and Staff requests for books, journal articles and book chapters are currently being processed through ILLiad only. The timeline for delivery may be affected by the availability of services at other libraries.

Student requests for journal articles and book chapters are also being processed through ILLiad, but requests for physical books are suspended for the Fall 2020 semester.

For more information, see our Library Services Updates: Fall 2020 guide.

What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

The purpose of Interlibrary loan is to support faculty and student research by providing access to materials that the Dickinson College library does not own and to materials owned but currently unavailable by requesting those materials from other institutions.  We reciprocate by lending our books and copying documents for other institutions.

Who is eligible to borrow through ILL?

Current students, faculty, staff, and emeritus professors have full ILL privileges.

Alumni and retirees may use ILL services at no charge when the material requested can be obtained free of charge. However, when libraries bill for services, these charges will be passed on to the patron making the request.

To receive ILL privileges, you will need:

  • A valid Dickinson ID
  • An active account with the library reflecting your patron status
