The Waidner-Spahr Library Prize for Excellence in First Year Research recognizes and rewards a first-year student who produces an exceptional research project for any class (not just first year seminars), in any discipline, during their first year at Dickinson. Projects should effectively use properly cited, independently selected research material to examine an engaging question.
Eligible projects include but are not limited to research papers, multimedia projects, lab reports, position papers, posters, field research studies, etc. Students may submit their own work or have their work nominated by a professor or peer. Projects co-authored by two FY students will be considered. Work must have been produced in spring or fall 2023.
