Temporary Emergency Services Ending

At the start and during the Covid-19 crisis, in-person services were adjusted to temporarily re-assign staff for the emergency conditions. As the campus and library prepare for in-person services to resume, several temporary services will be ending prior to the fall 2021 semester.

  • HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service enabled our library to provide online versions of nearly 1/3 of our print book collection.  As we prepare for in-person classes and operations, we will no longer qualify for participation in the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service following the end of Summer session. “HathiTrust Emergency Access” links will be removed from the JumpStart/catalog in late July/early August and the library will once again be permitted to loan the print versions of those books.

As members of HathiTrust Digital Library we will retain full-text access (with downloading) to more than 5.6 million HathiTrust volumes, and bibliographic information on millions more. https://libguides.dickinson.edu/specialaccess/hathitrust

  • Contact Free Pickup
As we reinstate in- person services and reopen all levels to the library building, we will eliminate the Contact Free-Pickup service after August 1.  We encourage our users to wander through the book stacks to find a “good read.”  You never know what you may find!
