Every First Year Seminar is assigned a liaison librarian to help you develop library research skills and become oriented to College library services and resources. You may also contact any of the librarians or use our general reference email and a librarian will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Students who have been approved to live on campus may place requests for contact-free pickup of many of the print books and DVDs from the Waidner-Spahr Library.
Requests can be placed by emailing circ@dickinson.edu. Please limit the number of requested items per day to 5.
Reference books and books digitized as part of the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service are NOT eligible for borrowing. See our HathiTrust guide for more information.
Requested items will be checked out to you and you will receive an email when they are available for pick up during library building hours. Items will be in a bag labeled with your name and placed on shelving inside the library’s main entrance off High Street. To request pick outside the Library’s doors email circ@Dickinson.edu. Please maintain social distancing requirement when picking up your items.

If an article or book chapter you need is not available online through Dickinson's library, you may request a copy through the ILLiad service. The item will be delivered to you electronically. Please keep in mind that request delivery times will be affected by service and staffing limitations at other libraries.
Most student requests for book loans from other libraries have been suspended. Exceptions may be made for those in 400-level seminars, engaging in independent study, or working on honors projects after first having a consultation with a reference librarian to find alternative sources. You may contact the librarians through our general reference email.
First time users of ILLiad will need to register and create a username and password, which is separate from your campus network login More information about ILLiad is available on the Borrow From Other Libraries guide.
