What is PCLA?

Established in 2014 through a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, PCLA’s mission is to enhance cross-institutional knowledge among its members to improve the quality of its institutions and programs and to create opportunities for cost efficiencies. PCLA’s activities will contribute to the national conversation about how America’s liberal arts colleges can address concerns such as increasing access and opportunity. While PCLA member colleges have distinctive institutional missions and well-defined institutional identities, they share a common commitment to the liberal arts, intercultural understanding, excellence in teaching and scholarship, and close working relationships between students and faculty.

Participating members are:

  • Bryn Mawr College
  • Dickinson College
